The Community Foundation of South Alabama has appointed Alvertha Bratton Penny as their chief executive officer. She left the California Community Foundation where she worked as vice president of programs for 6 years.
According to Penny, she is interested in the job for three main reasons; she is native to the south, she wants to work on a smaller foundation, and the local foundation is focused on her career's area of concentration which is community economic development.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) released the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles, an agreement signed by 34 banks, including the original eight of the nation’s leading banks, that covered nine key areas: environmental and social risk management, environmental and social footprint, human rights, women’s economic empowerment, financial inclusion, environmental and social governance, capacity building, collaborative partnerships and reporting.
